Sarah T. Caswell, Esq.

The trend toward decarbonization and low-carbon fuel policies are transforming the way we live and conduct business in the 21st century, and EcoEngineers is thrilled to have someone on board who not only has worked in Washington, D.C., but who also brings a bipartisan policy background to the team. Over the span of her 20-year career, Ms. Caswell has rallied bipartisan support for low-carbon fuel policies and is a national expert in the federal Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) and other programs impacting the low-carbon fuels industry. Ms. Caswell will join EcoEngineers’ consulting practice, which helps clients navigate their transition to a clean energy economy.

Ms. Caswell began her career in Washington, D.C., in 2000 as a legislative aide on the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. She has served as the Director of Biofuels and Biomass Policy at the largest international biotechnology trade association and then as the Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs at a cellulosic technology company with approved RFS and LCFS pathways for co-production and RIN generation of ethanol from corn starch and cellulosic ethanol from corn kernel fiber. Most recently, Ms. Caswell was the Administrator of the Nebraska Ethanol Board, an independent state agency working to ensure the continued strength, development, and growth of Nebraska’s ethanol industry — and by extension the U.S. ethanol industry.

Ms. Caswell lives and works in Omaha, Nebraska. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and a Juris Doctor degree from American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the Illinois Bar. Ms. Caswell may be contacted via email at scaswell@ecoengineers.us.
