ICYMI with Chelsa: Green Tourism

As the weather gets warmer and summer is just around the corner, many people are planning summer vacations.

I thought I could talk about something I have seen while traveling in the United Kingdom. While visiting tourist attractions, I noticed “Green Tourism Award” signage. I was intrigued and did a quick search. I found these awards are given to businesses including hotels, restaurants, campsites, tours, etc. that shine a light on their environmental practices.

Green tourism can include reducing energy use, saving water, efficient and eco-friendly waste disposal, minimizing food miles, and promoting biodiversity. If you are planning a trip to the UK, check out the link below and see if you can stay, eat, or tour with companies supporting the environment.
