Title: LCFS Program Director

What service area do you work? I manage the California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) Verification program for EcoEngineers

Where are you from? Hunan, China

What degrees or certifications do you have? I have a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and forest products, a Ph.D. in agricultural biosystems engineering, and I am a certified Lead Verifier in both the LCFS and Oregon Clean Fuels Program.

Why do you do what you do? I am proud to say I am part of the solution for climate change.

What does a Clean Energy Economy mean to you? It means we are helping more people aware of their carbon footprints and give more options to contribute a cleaner earth.

What question do your friends or family typically ask about your job? “What are low carbon fuels?” Answer: Imagine the fuel you used to power your car and heat your house were created using zero or very low energy.

What question does a client typically ask about your job before you begin? “What’s the difference between LCFS validation and verification?” Answer: They are technically the same service. You can consider validation as initial verification, once something has been validated, it will be verified annually going forward.

What is the biggest problem you solve? How would you describe it and your approach to fixing it? I took the lead to establish EcoEngineers LCFS verification services in 2020 and helped to grow it into 1/4 of the company revenue today.

How would you describe your biggest win? Moving to a new country and start a career in renewable energy.

What do you do you for fun outside of work and why do you enjoy it? Hiking, biking, backpacking, and exploring new place. It clears my minds and brings me new ideas, also remind me to appreciate how amazing and diverse of the world I am living in.
