What degrees or certifications do you have? B.A. in American Studies and Political Science, LCFS Verifier in Training

Why do you do what you do? Working as a Compliance Auditor, I enjoy being able to apply my knowledge to the various quarterly audits and RFS reports, as part of the world’s transition to a sustainable, clean energy future.

What question do your friends or family typically ask about your job? Friends and family typically ask questions seeking general information regarding the Renewable Fuel Standard and the relationship between RINs and volumes of biofuel produced and introduced into the economy. I typically answer by briefly explaining the target RVO’s set by the federal government, how that affects obligated parties, producers and end users, and the role EcoEngineers plays in that process.

What is the biggest problem you solve? How would you describe it and your approach to fixing it? Working to ensure that RINs introduced into the market follow the RFS and EcoEngineers’ QAP Q-RIN General Plan, in order to receive Q-RIN status, is the primary challenge I solve in my capacity as a Compliance Auditor. This includes ensuring required documents are received, reviewed for accuracy and conformance, and reported to the EPA through various reports and to our clients through quarterly audits, in a timely and appropriate manner.

How would you describe your biggest win? In 2003, I was awarded a United States Senate Youth Program Scholarship, and have remained a member of the alumni association since that time. The U.S. Senate Youth Program is sponsored by the U.S. Senate and gives students interested in a career of public service an in-depth view of the Senate and the federal government. Two student delegates are selected from each state, awarded a scholarship, and spend a week in Washington, D.C. meeting with senators and Cabinet members to discuss various public policy issues facing the nation, and how public service can address those issues.
